What I have in common with Captain James Tiberius Kirk
1. We're both balding
2. We're both leaders (He is the Captain of the Enterprise, I'm President and CEO of www.dantat.com)
What I don't have in common with Captain James Tiberius Kirk
1. He slept with a green alien space woman
2. I'm in the archaic past and he's in the perfect future where they can cure cancer with a pill
3. He has an awesome chair.
When Captain James T Kirk was commanding the Enterprise from the bridge he had to have a pretty kick ass chair to sit in. It was the kind of seating where he found comfort in giving orders. It's where he told Sulu to drive straight, told Scotty he needed more power, and showed Spock who the real badass on deck REALLY was. He probably sat in that chair 10 maybe 12 hours a day traversing the galaxy at Warp 9 in comfort and style. I had to get myself a chair as great as Captain Kirk's.
So here's my old chair....
I've had this thing for over 7 years and it has served me well, but the cushion was wearing out and I could tell my butt didn't like it one bit, so, I ordered a Herman Miller Aeron Chair.
"What is a Herman Miller Aeron Chair," my wife asked, "and why is it so darn expensive?!"
(Herman Miller chairs can go for over $1000. I didn't pay NEARLY that much.)
"Honey" I said, "When Loki tricked the Sons of Ivaldi into making Thor's Hammer they used what they had leftover and made the Herman Miller chair"
OK, so I was stretching the truth, it was actually the leftover parts they didn't need when they crafted the super awesome crime fighting helicopter Airwolf back in the 80's..
Anyway, back to my chair.
I ordered the chair three weeks ago and eagerly awaited the UPS guy to deliver it.
Imagine the joy and elation I had when i finally opened the box and revealed the contents..
and then finally assembled it...
I swear to you I saw it actually glow..
Then I looked at my old chair. It had gone through its fair share of wear and tear...
Then I wondered how I managed to survive all these years with such an awful piece of furniture. I decided to take a closer look....
and then I dug deeper....
then I realized that I was actually sitting on a crate in Costco covered in leather....
and this random piece of metal?!!?!
Oh well, that's my new chair.
Life is good!
sweet looking seat!

Yah it looks like that chair may be in need of an update. Be mindful of any small rodents which might call it home as you dispose of it! That new chair you have ROCKS. I used to have a very similar (if not the same model) YEARS ago at a media studio where .COM era money was thrown around frivolously... before we were all laid off.
