Happy Holidays

Lg_cover5c

It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone and this year, especially, has brought many big changes to my life. I'm actually quite burned out from all the work I did this year which is why you haven't seen any posts for the past month. I'm essentially sitting in front of my XBOX 360 and playing a stack of various video games which I've been dying to play since August. In any case, I apologize for the laziness of not creating some holiday art for the blog like all the other children's book artists out there but I know that next year is going to be a very busy year and I want to get as much slacking off as I possibly can. Above is my cheap attempt at a holiday card but in all actuality it is the cover for "The Ghosts of Luckless Gulch" which I just completed a few days ago. This book really wore me out and is, for the most part, the reason why I'm so withered and tired.

BUT let's ring in the new year and I'll, hopefully, be refreshed and revitalized to get this blog back up to snuff!

Happy Holidays!

Over the Hump!

I just slaved away for most of November and today I'm happy to announce that I just completed all the interior illustrations to Anne Issac's "The Ghosts of Luckless Gulch" for Atheneum Books. This is the first time I've ever been happy with the quality of the art of a book all the way through and it's the strongest work I've ever done.

There is much rejoicing....

And now, I think I'm going to spend the afternoon hanging out with my friends in the current WGA Writer's Strike and see a free concert in Burbank thrown together by Tenacious D!

"Chillax" is up for bid

103_snowflakes_2007

My snowflake "Chillax!" is available for bidding all this week for the Robert's Snow cure for cancer auction. When I thought about it I realized that I know far too many people who have been affected by this disease mothers, friends, and so forth and I concluded that if I saw cancer walking down the street I'd punch it in the face and say "You're a jerk cancer!" and then run off into the night.

In any case, I wanted to add an extra incentive. If you are the winner of my snowflake I will throw in a signed copy of "The Secret Life of Walter Kitty" So if you win drop me an email and we'll discuss further details.
